ATA IT Limited, represented by Chief Executive Officer Mr. René Jacques Desjardins, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol). The partnership reflects a shared recognition that technology is evolving faster than traditional boundaries between academia and industry.
For students, that challenge presents an opportunity, so by establishing internships, cooperative education programs, and research projects, they will experience a side of technology that rarely appears in coursework: changing requirements, competing priorities, and the need to balance technical excellence with real-world outcomes. It is where theory meets practice, and where much of the learning begins.
The collaboration also brings together perspectives that do not often meet in the same room. Universities explore new ideas, while industry tests them against practical constraints and rapidly changing technologies. Bringing those perspectives together creates space for conversations that neither side would have on its own.
The partnership comes at a time when questions about the future of work are becoming more pressing. Discussions during the visit touched on the growing influence of artificial intelligence and its impact on the technology profession.
As AI accelerates tasks that once took hours and lowers the effort needed for routine work, many of the assumptions surrounding entry-level careers are beginning to shift. The challenge is no longer simply preparing students for today’s roles, but helping them navigate a profession that may look very different by the time they enter it.
Ultimately, the value of the MoU will not be measured by the document itself, but by what grows from it: opportunities for students, stronger connections between education and industry, and a shared effort to better understand where technology is heading and what future professionals will need from it.
