Muay Thai Night for ATA IT

ATA IT muay Thai jobs security development apps Bangkok Thailand

Last month a group of ATA IT employees visited Petchprasit Muay Thai Gym for a session of boxing training. The group was led by our CEO Rene Desjardins, who is an ex-professional boxer and coach, well known in Thai Boxing circles. Everyone was put through a tough but enjoyable 90 minute workout for both beginners and experienced boxers by our trainers.

A Brief History

Muay Thai is a sport and martial art that originated in Thailand many centuries ago, with roots in the Siamese military. Originally developed as a means of self-defense and combat, it gained widespread popularity in the 20th century and became an integral part of Thai culture and national identity, showcasing strength, skill, and discipline.

The Benefits

The outing offers numerous benefits for both employees and the company. Firstly, it promotes team building and camaraderie among colleagues. Participating in a physically demanding activity like Muay Thai encourages teamwork, trust, and communication as employees engage in drills and sparring sessions. This shared experience strengthens relationships, leading to improved collaboration and productivity in the workplace.

Muay Thai training helps physical fitness and well-being; it is a full-body workout that improves cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and coordination. It helps our employees relieve stress, boost energy levels, and improve overall health. Also participating in a challenging activity like Muay Thai promotes personal growth and development. It encourages employees to step out of their comfort zones, overcome fears, and build self-confidence. Learning a new skill, such as proper techniques for punches, kicks, and defensive moves, can instill a sense of achievement and empower individuals.

Overall, a company outing at a Muay Thai boxing gym offers team building, improved fitness and well-being, personal growth, and enhanced employer branding, all of which contribute to a more engaged and successful workforce. Thank you to everyone at Petchprasit Gym for a great evening and we hope to see them again for another session very soon.
